So how did you spend your labor day weekend? I spent mine making this remix.
Many thanks to Ailsean for providing the delightfully dark rhythm guitar bits. I tried to get more outta the guy, but he's like - getting married and stuff. Congratulations dude.
This is one I've been meaning to do for a while. I've tried to remix it several times, but getting that one-chord-eighth-note ostinato to actually sound good is not as easy as it seems. It was only after I gave it harpsichord, organ, low piano, and cello all at the same time that it actually sounded kinda cool, and then I went from there.
This is one THICK remix. Gothic, orchestral, industrial (note the metal clanks and drills, hehe), with choir, synth guitar, synth leads, electric bass, Ailsean's real guitar... phew. I was doing the evil laugh quite a bit while making this one. I love writing this style. And it's been a while.
Note the double meaning of the title. :)
This mix commemorates the release of the brand new Mazedude.com, shortly after Labor Day 2005. Enjoy.
